Phantom

Turning a wallet into a financial platform.

Challenge
Evolve Phantom beyond a crypto wallet while the product, provider strategy, and architecture were still undefined.
My role
Owned the lifecycle from validating the direction and building the first prototypes through the production platform, roadmap, and GA launch, then built the engineering team and transferred ownership before leaving.
What changed
Turned an abstract direction into an executable platform and the technical foundations behind Phantom Cash.

Building custody from first principles.

Challenge
Support multiple assets and transaction flows without rebuilding a one-off system for every blockchain.
My role
Designed and prototyped a reusable, event-driven transaction foundation as a hands-on architect and builder.
What changed
Moved the platform from isolated integrations toward reusable custody infrastructure.

Building the organization that growth demanded.

Challenge
The business was growing faster than the blockchain engineering organization and its ownership model.
My role
Stepped from senior engineer into leadership, built specialized teams and leaders, and used contractors as a temporary bridge while hiring full-time ownership.
What changed
Helped grow the group from roughly 5 to 50+ people across seven specialized teams.
